Flipped Learning

Hello!! Last week we learned about the Flipped Classroom Approach in our Current Issues course and for this week's assignment my friend Büşra Hazal Sert and I created a "grammar teaching video for a flipped EFL classroom." Flipped Learning is an approach in which the classroom is an active place where students play an active role by applying and creating about the content they learned through videos and materials at their homes. Enabling students to play an active role in the learning process, promoting student-centered learning, integrating technology into the learning process, and making the course content easily accessible can be counted as the advantages of flipped learning. However, there are also some disadvantages which can be exemplified such as; requiring too much preparation time or the fact that not all students might watch the videos or volunteer to participate. Although flipped learning has various advantages and disadvantages it is an effective approach that enhances active and student-centered learning. For our assignment Hazal and I chose to create a grammar teaching video, for our video we chose the topic "Tag Questions." Our target audience was public school preparatory students. We started our task by creating a presentation. After the presentation was done we used "Loom" to screencast our presentation and to record our voices while we talked about our topic for four minutes. We also added checkpoints by using "Wordwall" to support our students to interact with the content they are learning. Even though getting used to using Loom was a little bit difficult in the beginning, we got used to it after trying a few times. Recording our voices was very amusing. We had so much fun.
