Goodbye Again :))

Hello :)) We have come to the end of the term and my Current Issues class is also ending. Through the term, we learned how to create various types of learning materials by integrating different types of technologies into our teaching. My favorite part about this course was being able to see how my technological skills improved after completing all the tasks. It was also very beneficial to improve our collaborative skills by working with a peer during the tasks. Büşra and I had so much fun exploring new tools and technologies. However, sometimes it was a little bit hard to keep up and complete all the tasks. My favorite task was creating an AR/VR teaching material. Our topic was "Marine Pollution" and I loved exploring 360 videos about the topic. My least favorite task was creating a flipped teaching video because it was difficult to record our voices and synchronize the voice and the video. Students who are going to take this course should complete all the tas...

Health and Gliglish :)

Hello :) This week in my Current Issues class Büşra Hazal Sert and I created an AI integrated material. For our material, we chose the topic "Health Problems and Doctor's Appointments." We decided to integrate "Gliglish" into our task. Because Gliglish enables students to experience real-life situations by having a dialogue with AI. Through the process Hazal and I had so much fun trying Gliglish because it is very easy to use and it has so many options. However, for our assignment, we asked our students to try the topic "Appointment at the Doctor's Office" taking place in Gliglish. I believe AI tools will have an important place in language education as it becomes more authentic. From the links below you can check Büşra Hazal Sert's blog and our AI integrated material.  Büşra Hazal Sert's blog, Our AI integrated material, Goodbye and have fun using Gliglish :))

Save Our Seas

Hello!! This week in my Current Issues in ELT course we were assigned to create an augmented/virtual reality integrated teaching material. My friend Büşra Hazal and I decided to create a teaching material that explores and raises awareness on a global issue. We chose Marine pollution because it is an important issue that affects all humanity. That is why in our material we explained marine pollution and supported our explanations with 360 videos. At the end of our material, we also added a homework section and assigned our students to create a poster and start acting. Hazal and I had so much fun while choosing 360 videos for our content. There are so many videos that explain water pollution and integrate students into the environment of polluted oceans. Even though right now AR/VR technologies look a little bit hard to apply in language teaching classrooms due to the lack of technological devices, I believe that they will have great importance in the future tha...
